The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata 980 12G-SDI Video Generator / Analyzer module supports video and audio functional testing of next gen broadcast monitors, conversion devices and sources up to 12G-SDI. The module is equipped with four (4)12G-SDI-capable output ports. The output ports can be aggregated for Dual link HD-SDI and Quad link 3G-SDI operation. A genlock input supporting both SD analog black burst and HD tri-level to sync the output clocks with a "house sync" but the module can also run off its internal clock. The module's four (4) SDI input ports can also be aggregated for Dual link HD-SDI and Quad link 3G-SDI operation. For single link operation only port 1 on the input or output is functional.

The 980 12G-SDI Video Generator / Analyzer module can be equipped in either of the following Quantum Data 980 Advanced Test Platforms:
The 980 SDI Video Generator provides over 600 standard video timings and 300 test patterns necessary for testing HDTVs. The module has an LPCM sine wave generator which can be configured to output a user defined sampling rate, bit depth, amplitude and frequency.
You can configure the list of format timings and test patterns using the Format List Editor and Image List Editor. These convenient tools facilitate and quick access during testing. The module provides a Format Editor for creating custom format timings or for quickly making modifications to existing timings for testing.
NEW! The optional analyzer function are provided by the SDI input ports. The analyzer function enables you to look at the incoming video in real time and view the essential video parameters in the status bar. You can also monitor the audio, audio channel status bits and you can eject audio through the 980's SPDIF connectors for external monitoring. The analyzer also enables you to view the incoming ancillary data in real time.
The 980 12G-SDI Video Generator / Analyzer module can be controlled either through the PC-based 980 GUI Manager or through the embedded 980 GUI Manager running on the 980 itself. The 980B/980R built-in color touch screen provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to control the instrument and will enable you to view incoming video and metadata in the Real Time mode when using the module’s optional analyzer feature available in subsequent releases.

Video Pattern Testing – Test a broadcast monitor's SDI inputs with over 600 standard formats to ensure that it can render video test patterns. Over 300 video patterns supported. Create your own custom formats using the user friendly Format Editor. Scroll bitmap patterns to test for motion artifacts. Create custom test pattern lists and custom format lists to facilitate testing.
Single Link Formats - Use the 12G-SDI capable output for testing next gen broadcast monitors.
