The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata 881E/882E test instruments with the DisplayPort 1.1 transmitter option is packed with features for video and audio testing of DisplayPort monitors and displays at pixel rates up to 268 MHz The 881E-DP version is a lower-cost version with the full DP transmitter functions necessary for testing modern displays on manufacturing production lines. The 882E-DP version includes all the features of the 881E-DP instrument but offers several feature upgrades that are not available for the 881E-DP version. These are listed on the Options tab.

The 881E/882E DisplayPort instrument delivers video at pixel rates up to 268 MHz. One (1), 2, and 4-lane configurations are supported at per-lane rates of 1.62 Gb/s and 2.7 Gb/s under user control. Test video capabilities of display as well as functional tests for HDCP and EDID. Instrument features front panel buttons and LCD display, but can also be controlled through the command line for automated testing.

The following is a partial list of features supported by the 881E/882E DisplayPort Video Generator. For a complete list of features please refer to the Data Sheet and User Guide available at the links on this webpage.

  • Test DisplayPort monitors – Use standard test patterns and an extensive library of over 350 video formats including a variety of VESA formats (DMT, CVT, CVR) to test displays.
  • Custom video formats – Create custom video formats and timings for testing.
  • Custom test patterns – Test displays with bitmap images or create custom test patterns using C++ Software Developer’s Kit (SDK).
  • Test audio – Run audio tests on DisplayPort monitors with compressed audio clips or LPCM formats with user-configurable settings for sampling rate, amplitude, bit depth and channels).
  • Configurable video format listing – Configure list of video formats based on EDID of connected DisplayPort sink following hot plug.
  • HDCP testing – Run basic HDCP functional tests on DisplayPort sink devices.
  • EDID testing – Run basic EDID functional tests on DisplayPort sink devices.
  • Easy to use – Access powerful features easily using intuitive user interface.
  • Multiple configurations – Save and restore different instrument configurations for different applications.
  • Configure various DisplayPort video parameters through front panel or command line.
  • Probe Trigger – Trigger a scope or inspection camera using the probe signal. Position a pulse anywhere in the frame.

  • VESA DisplayPort EDID Compliance Test – Run VESA EDID compliance tests on DisplayPort sink devices.
  • DisplayPort 1.1a HDCP Compliance Test – Run HDCP compliance tests on DisplayPort sink devices.
  • DisplayPort Link Layer Sink Compliance Test – Run VESA approved link layer compliance tests on DisplayPort sink devices.

The following is a list of available with the 881E/882E-DP instrument.

  • DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort Cable – Connects DisplayPort sources and sinks with standard external (box-to-box) cable.
  • Rackmount Kit – For mounting in a standard 19 inch relay rack.
  • Null Modem Cable – is provide with all 880 series generators. It is used for connecting a PC to the generator to control the generator through the command line interface.
  • Ethernet Crossover Cable (p/n 30-00151) – The Ethernet cross over cable is provide with all 880 series generators. It is used for connecting a PC to the generator for web browser access.
  • Line Cord (p/n 30A00400A03) – The 6 foot line cord is provided with all 880 series generators. It is a detachable power cord used to provide power to the generator.
  • Compact Flash Memory Card (82-00133 and 82-00134) – 128MB Compact flash memory card.
  • Remote keypad (00-00123) – Allow entry of numeric command to load images and formats from up to 43″ (1.1 m) from the generator.
