The following features have been added in the Release 2.15.0.
- Added Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD
audio support. (Important: See installation
notes below.)
- Added xvYCC capability.
- Added Munsell images.
- Added combined CEC, HDCP, and EDID test image called AuxTest1.
- Gateware files can now be read from PCMCIA/CF card when booting.
- Added delta timing in ACA.
The following anomalies have been corrected in the Release
2.15.0.
- DDC resets no longer cause reads to take too long on E platforms.
- *RST now resets to appropriate interface.
- Fixed Box250mm's image not available message for DMT0660.
- CEC <Set Menu Language> response format corrected.
- YCbCr to YYY switch now produces correct colors.
- SPDIF output now works properly.
- Can now create 5-byte HDMI VSDB in EDID Editor.
- VSDB label in EDID Editor changed to reflect HDMI specificity.
- EDID Editor now correctly handles changes to latencies in VSDB.
Note: The release files can only be applied
to the 882E/881E HDMI generator (not the 882CA/882C/881C, 882D, 882EA or 882E DisplayPort generators).

Now you can use Quantum Data's new AutoUpdate utility to upgrade
your generator firmware and gateware. The AutoUpdate utility automates the process of upgrading firmware. It guides the user through the upgrade process, checking the Quantum Data website for the latest version and installing all files in the correct location on the generator.

You can upgrade your generator using the procedures in the Users
Guide. Please note that you will have to verify that your
current generator is operating with Release 2.7.0, 2.8.0,
2.8.1, 2.8.2, 2.9.0, 2.10.2, 2.10.5, 2.11.0, 2.12.0, or 2.13.1.
To verify that your current generator is operating with one
of these releases, enter the following command:

After verifying that the generator is operating with Release
2.7.0, 2.8.0, 2.8.1, 2.8.2, 2.9.0, 2.10.2, 2.10.5, 2.11.0, 2.12.0, or 2.13.1,
upgrade your generator using the procedures below:
- Download the 2.15.0 Zip file to your PC and unzip the
file. There will be a System and a Library directory.
- Upgrade the generator using "Upgrading without using PC Card" procedure at this link.
- After power cycling the generator, verify that the generator
is running the current 2.15.0 version of the vxWorks file
by entering the following command:
verf?

- Verify that the vxWorks file is: 20.1885600.
- Verify that the BootRom version is: 01.04.11.
- Verify that the generator is running the current 2.15.0
version of the gateware files by entering the following
command:
verg?

- The first listing is the Lattice FPGA gateware. The next
two listings are the transmitter gateware files for the
DVI and the HDMI output. The gatewares are separated by
colons. Verify that the transmitter gateware files are:
401A,14,3052008:401B,3,2282008.
The new
Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby True HD audio formats
use audio samples that must be downloaded and installed separately
to the Library/audio directory of the Compact Flash/PCMCIA card:
- Download the file AudioSamples_2.15.0.zip
- Unzip this file to a folder in your computer
- Using FTP Browser, browse to the card0/Library
folder of the 882E generator
- Click on New under Instrument
Files, and create a new directory called
audio
- Under Host Files, browse to the folder on your PC
where you unzipped the audio sample files
- Copy all 6 files to the new audio directory
- 1khz2ch-20dB_ec3.pcm
- 1khz51ch-20dB_ec3.pcm
- 1khz71ch-1frame_ec3.pcm
- 1khz71ch-20dB_mlp.pcm
