The following anomolies have been reported with Releases 2.5.x and 2.6.0.
- When AVST or DVST is changed through the command line, the generator's front panel doesn't reflect the change (i.e. the asterisk next to YYY/RGB/YPbPr doesn't get changed). This problem is prevalent on both analog or digital interface.
- Sync setting does not automatically switch to default setting for a particular format and interface. For example if you have selected the VGA interface and are using the DMT0660 format which has DSS sync (and DSS was in fact set) and then you selected 720p60, the sync type is not changing to ACS as it should be for 720p60.
You can upgrade your generator using the procedures in the Users
Guide. Please note that you will have to verify that your current
generator is operating with Release 2.3.x, 2.4.x or 2.5.x. To verify that your current
generator is operating with one of these releases, enter the following command:
verf?
Release 2.3.0 should return the following information:
20.1883000, 01.04.11
Release 2.4.0 should return the following information:
20.1883200, 01.04.11
Release 2.5.5 should return the following information:
20.1883405, 01.04.11
After verifying that the generator is operating with either Release
2.3.x, 2.4 or 2.5.x you can upgrade to Release 2.6.0 by completing the following
high level steps which are detailed in the Users Guide:
- Download the 2.6.0 Zip file to your PC and unzip the file.
- Back up the existing System and Library directories from the
generator's flash memory to your PC:
Back
up files.
- Transfer the 2.6.0 System and Library directories to your generator's
flash memory: Transfer files. Transfer the
System directory first.
- Configure the generator to boot from the generator's flash memory:
Boot from flash
- Power cycle the generator.
- Verify that the generator is running the current 2.6.0 version
of the vxWorks file by entering the following command:
verf?
20.1883600, 01.04.11
- Verify that the vxWorks file is: 20.1883600.
- Verify that the BootRom version is: 01.04.11.
- Verify that the generator is running the current 2.6.0 version
of the gateware files by entering the following command:
verg?
400C,4,6062006:400A,6,5042006:400B,7,7052006
- The first listing is the CPLD gateware. The next two listings are the transmitter gateware files for the DVI and the HDMI output. The gatewares are separated by colons. Verify that the transmitter gateware files are:
400A,6,5042006:400B,7,7052006.
This new image is contains a new box image (Box1_100) that is centered in the active video and is 1/100 of the image width.
When the generator cannot boot as a result of low memory or file corruption, you can reformat the flash memory. The reformating is achieved by booting from the PCcard configured with a known good firmware (vxWorks file). Once the generator boots from the vxWorks file in the PCcard, you initiate a Clone/Restore operation accessible from the TOOLS->System menu. In some cases you may also have to unseat the video board from the main board:
Seating the Video Board.
The symptom of this problem may be an error on the LCD such as "TFFS0 failure".
Use the following command syntax:
ENET:IP 192.168.254.235
ENET:IP?
ENET:MASK 255.255.255.000
ENET:MASK?
You can obtain Release Notes for past releases as follows:
882D Release 2.5.5
882D Release 2.5.4
882D Release 2.4
882D Release 2.3
