Important Note: These release files cannot be used on an 882CA with the HDCP Compliance Test option. Only use this firmware if you have NOT upgraded the generator to support the HDCP Compliance Test option.

There are two key items that are NOT in this C(A) release that are in 2.7.0 and 2.8.0 releases for the D and E.

(1) Support for 20 and 24 bit audio
(2) Fix for anomalies that were occurring on the Master image (colors reversed) using format 480i2x29 YCbCr 4:2:2 with 8-bit depth.

Feature Enhancements for 882CA/882C/881C Release 2.8.1 - vxWorks: 20.1884200

The following features are included in the Release 2.8.1.

  • Added 720p30, 720p29, 720p25, 720p24, and 720p23 formats.
  • EDID Editor has been enhanced to allow writing to the EEPROM of a connected display. The command that has been added to support this function is: EDA<x>:PDID, where <x> is the HDMI Tx port number that the display, whose EEPROM you wish to write to, is connected to.
  • A command had been added for changing between the Basic mode and the Browse mode. The command is: UI:MODE 0 or 1, where 0 = Basic Mode and 1 = Browse Mode.
  • A command has been added in support of the ViewData function. The ViewData function is part of the analyzer ReadRGB function. It enables you to view the video content of a source that is connected one of the HDMI Rx (input) ports. The command syntax is: PDAX:VIEW.
  • EDID Compliance Test now supports HDMI CTS 1.3a.

The following anomalies have been corrected in the Release 2.8.1.

  • The Auxiliary Channel Analyzer now supports the 5 volt sense for monitoring the Hot Plug detect.
  • The anomaly associated with the SamsungB image has been corrected. The sliding white box no longer disapears when you turn off the RGB outputs.
  • The problems related to the command used to enable and disable Read EDID (TOGG) has been corrected.
  • The problem related to test sequences has been resolved. A user can no longer escape out of the test sequence menu to change other selections. Therefore a user has to exit out of the test sequence to change formats and interfaces.
  • The asterisk, indicating that an item is selected, now appears in all cases even after a power cycle.
  • The vendor specific data block in the EDID has been updated to include new data for HDMI 1.3 deep color.
  • The DCPG command now requires the DCPU command to activate it.
  • The *RST command has been updated to include all new settings. This enables a user to reset all the settings to the factory default.
  • The ringing and flickering problems on the CVBS output have been eliminated.
  • The 882 now will remove the sync signal when changing interfaces.
  • The horizontal and vertical sync pulse polarity is now set properly with HSPP and VSPP on the DVI output.
  • The anomalies that were occurring on the TVBar images at high resolution formats have been removed.
  • The ACA would occasionally hang when trying to connect to an 882 a second time. This problem has been corrected.
  • The problem of the 882 occasionally hanging when browsing the file system or scrolling through formats has been corrected.
  • The UUT menu now allows the user to select different options.
  • Parameter values in AFDTest and PixelRep images are synchronized with queries via the command line.
  • CEC device definitions have been modified so that they no longer have potentially illegal physical addresses.
  • The AVSS command now operates properly to change the analog signal swing on the VGA and the composite outputs.
  • The CVT formats are now listed immediately after the DMT formats.
  • The syntax inconsistencies for the I2CW command have been corrected. You can now either include the length as a parameter or omit it.
  • The image creation commands used to ensure that an image scales with the format (XRES & YRES) now function properly.
  • Four additional SDI formats were added to the default format list: 720p30 (format #4), 720p29 (format #5), 720p25 (format #6), 720p23 (format #8).
  • The analyzer related reports for the PacketRx image are now available even if the HDMI-H is not selected as the Interface.
  • Pressing the SPOT keys (+/-) now will result in the current selected Format or Image to appear on the Source or Content menu respectively.
  • The labeling on the HDCPProd image of the initial Ri value has been modified to R0.
  • The Pedestal selection through the front panel now operates properly.
  • The EdidData image now updates with its content when a new display is connected, i.e. when a hot-plug event occurs.
  • The generator no longer hangs when the Edit Cal factors function of the Self-Calibration menu is accessed.
  • The dots in the Crosshtc image are now properly centered for all formats.
  • The .xml extension is no longer needed when loading and running custom ImageShift files (ISHL command).
  • Instances where the CEC buffer overflowed have been corrected. These buffer overflows results in false negatives (failures).
  • The first digit of the part number and the serial number are now shown on the GenStats iamge and the GenStats report.
  • Serial port (RS232) settings now persist through power cycles.
  • PacketTx's on-screen Extended Colorimetry now matches up with the generated report.
  • PacketTx's IT Content field now changes according to the format selected.
  • Various firmware issues related to TME 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 that caused false negatives have been fixed. These updates will be supported by TME 1.3.2 and later versions which will be released in the near future. These updates do not affect TME 1.3.1 and earlier versions.

Note: The release files can only be applied to the 882C(A) or 881C generator (not the 882D or 882E generators).
