The following features are included in the Release 2.6.0.

The following anomalies have been corrected in the Release 2.6.0.

  • Analyzer now correctly represents values for both fields of an interlaced source

  • Corrected image shift anomaly on CVBS interface

  • Read EDID function in HDMI-H now includes DMT0660 (VIC 1)

  • Set_AVMute bit is now set during format parameter changes

  • Miscellaneous EDID Editor bug fixes

  • FTP Browser now works on non-Windows PCs

Note: The release files can only be applied to the 882C(A) or 881C generator (not the 882D generators).

Software Table

The Release 2.6.0 is comprised of the following software components.

Software Component Version Change Status
Boot Rom 01.04.11 no change
vxWorks 20.1883600 new with 2.6.0
CPLD gateware 256C,39,2222006 882s prior to 5/06
CPLD gateware 255C,41,5312006 no change
Transmitter gateware 253F,77,8012006 no change
Receiver gateware 253A,9,8282006 no change

Note: 882C(A) units with CPLD gateware 253C,36,1272005 will not support monitoring of the DDC Tx ports with the Auxiliary Channel Analyzer. Contact Customer Support for information on how to upgrade these units.

Known issues with Release 2.6.0

The following anomalies have been reported with Releases 2.5.x and 2.6.0.

  • When AVST or DVST is changed through the command line, the generator's front panel doesn't reflect the change (i.e. the asterisk next to YYY/RGB/YPbPr doesn't get changed). This problem is prevalent on both analog or digital interface.
  • Sync setting does not automatically switch to default setting for a particular format and interface. For example if you have selected the VGA interface and are using the DMT0660 format which has DSS sync (and DSS was in fact set) and then you selected 720p60, the sync type is not changing to ACS as it should be for 720p60.

Upgrade Instructions

You can upgrade your generator using the procedures in the Users Guide. Please note that you will have to verify that your current generator is operating with Release 2.1.x, 2.2.x, 2.3.x, 2.4.x or 2.5.x. To verify that your current generator is operating with one of these releases, enter the following command:

verf?

Release 2.1.0 should return the following information:

20.1882508, 01.04.11

Release 2.2.0 should return the following information:

20.1882800, 01.04.11

Release 2.2.1 should return the following information:

20.1882901, 01.04.11

Release 2.2.2 should return the following information:

20.1882903, 01.04.11

Release 2.2.3 should return the following information:

20.1882910, 01.04.11

Release 2.3.0 should return the following information:

20.1883000, 01.04.11

Release 2.4.0 should return the following information:

20.1883200, 01.04.11

Release 2.5.5 should return the following information:

20.1883405, 01.04.11

After verifying that the generator is operating with either Release 2.1.x, 2.2.x, 2.3.x, 2.4.x or 2.5.x you can upgrade to Release 2.6.0 by completing the following high level steps which are detailed in the Users Guide:

  1. Download the 2.6.0 Zip file to your PC and unzip the file.
  2. Back up the existing System and Library directories from the generator's flash memory to your PC: Back up files.
  3. Transfer the 2.6.0 System and Library directories to your generator's flash memory: Transfer files. Transfer the System directory first.
  4. Configure the generator to boot from the generator's flash memory: Boot from flash
  5. Power cycle the generator.
  6. Verify that the generator is running the current 2.6.0 version of the vxWorks file by entering the following command:

    verf?
    20.1883600, 01.04.11

  7. Verify that the vxWorks file is: 20.1883600.
  8. Verify that the BootRom version is: 01.04.11.
  9. Verify that the generator is running the current 2.6.0 version of the gateware files by entering the following command:

    verg?
    256C,39,2222006:253F,77,8012006:253A,9,8282006

  10. The first listing is the CPLD gateware. The next two listings are the Tx and Rx gateware respectively. The gatewares are separated by colons. Verify that the Tx gateware file (the second item listed) is: 253F,77,8012006.
  11. Verify that the Rx gateware file (the third item listed) is: 253A,9,8282006.

New Features

ITE now has a graphical user interface called the CEC Controller. This application is accessible from the generator home page.

The CEC ITE provides both a command driven interface and a graphical Java-based application (CEC Controller) for stress testing CEC devices under test. The features in the ITE command line or CEC Controller can be used to verify certain compliance related tests under various adverse conditions such as boundry testing of timing, arbitration, corrupt bit timing, and acknowledgement.

CEC updates in accordance with HDMI 1.3A; updated ACA.

New opcodes for various commands are now supported. These can be issued through the ITE CEC Controller and they are parsed by the ACA.

Added special box image

This new image is contains a new box image (Box1_100) that is centered in the active video and is 1/100 of the image width.

Support for hot plug detect de-assertion length control with HPPW command.

The hot plug assertion on the HDMI IN interface can be controlled through the HPPW command as follows:

HPPW 100 // Configures HDMI IN port on analyzer to pull down HPD lead for 125 msec.
HPPW? // Queries for the current value.

Support for reformatting Flashmem to resolve file corruption.

When the generator cannot boot as a result of low memory or file corruption, you can reformat the flash memory. The reformating is achieved by booting from the PCcard configured with a known good firmware (vxWorks file). Once the generator boots from the vxWorks file in the PCcard, you initiate a Clone/Restore operation accessible from the TOOLS->System menu. In some cases you may also have to unseat the video board from the main board: Seating the Video Board. The symptom of this problem may be an error on the LCD such as "TFFS0 failure".

The IP address can now be set through command line with ENET:IP and ENET:MASK commands.

Use the following command syntax:

ENET:IP 192.168.254.235
ENET:IP?
ENET:MASK 255.255.255.000
ENET:MASK?
