The following features are included in the Release 2.5.4.
Note: The release files can only be applied to the 882C(A)

Note: 882C(A) units with CPLD gateware 253C,36,1272005 will not support monitoring of the DDC Tx ports with the Auxiliary Channel Analyzer. Contact Customer Support for information on how to upgrade these units.
The following anomolies have been reported with Release 2.5.4.
- When AVST or DVST is changed through the command line, the generator's front panel doesn't reflect the change (i.e. the asterisk next to YYY/RGB/YPbPr doesn't get changed). This problem is prevalent on both analog or digital interface.
- Sync setting does not automatically switch to default setting for a particular format and interface. For example if you have selected the VGA interface and are using the DMT0660 format which has DSS sync (and DSS was in fact set) and then you selected 720p60, the sync type is not changing to ACS as it should be for 720p60.
The following anomalies have been corrected as part of this release.
- EDID data rendering. In some instances depending on the format the EDID data reports were rendered partially off the screen. They are now confined to a safe area.
- Image Shifting at High Resolutions. Image shift is now supported when using formats with high resolutions such as 1080. Note that due to memory limitations, formats with very high resolutions cannot be configured to shift the full extent of their horizontal or vertical resolutions.
- TV Bar Image Anti-Aliased. The TV Bar image has been recreated to be anti aliased.
- Ringing With 4:2:2. The artifacts that occur on transitions between colors (attributable to "ringing") when in HDMI or SDI 4:2:2 sampling mode and at the TV output have been eliminated.
- Distorted image during interface transitions. The distorted image problem that resulted from a change between interfaces (such as VGA to HDMI to VGA) has been removed.
- HDMI EDID Compliance test anomolies. The results of the HTML report and the on-screen report are now consistent. A fail indication for the basic audio test has been corrected to indicate pass.
- The Clock Accuracy bits on PacketRx image incorrect. The clock accuracy bits on PacketRx image (Received Other Packets screen) are now correct.
- Graphics cards causing reboot of generator. Graphics cards that read the EDID quickly (close to 100 KHz) no longer cause the I2C bus monitor to crash the generator.
- CEC test image anomolies. The CEC test image now sends from the assigned CEC logical address. The CEC test image no longer hangs in certain cases such as when it reads the wrong address in one place).
- YPbPr/RGB settings are not persistent. The color state of the generator for TV formats is now persistent through a power cycle.
- Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA) Anomolies. Various modifications were made to improve the usability and clarify of the ACA. These include improvements in labeling, scrolling, timestamps, etc.
- The TPA-ACA-3R supports 5 volt sense for hot plug detect enabling the Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA) to monitor EDID transactions passively between an HDMI source and an HDMI sink.
You can upgrade your generator using the procedures in the Users
Guide. Please note that you will have to verify that your current
generator is operating with Release 2.1.x, 2.2.x, 2.3.x or 2.4.x. To verify that your current
generator is operating with one of these releases, enter the following command:
verf?
Release 2.1.0 should return the following information:
20.1882508, 01.04.11
Release 2.2.0 should return the following information:
20.1882800, 01.04.11
Release 2.2.1 should return the following information:
20.1882901, 01.04.11
Release 2.2.2 should return the following information:
20.1882903, 01.04.11
Release 2.2.3 should return the following information:
20.1882910, 01.04.11
Release 2.3.0 should return the following information:
20.1883000, 01.04.11
Release 2.4.0 should return the following information:
20.1883200, 01.04.11
After verifying that the generator is operating with either Release
2.1.x, 2.2.x, 2.3.x or 2.4 you can upgrade to Release 2.5.4 by completing the following
high level steps which are detailed in the Users Guide:
- Download the 2.5.4 Zip file to your PC and unzip the file.
- Back up the existing System and Library directories from the
generator's flash memory to your PC:
Back
up files.
- Transfer the 2.5.4 System and Library directories to your generator's
flash memory: Transfer files. Transfer the System directory first.
- Configure the generator to boot from the generator's flash memory:
Boot from flash
- Power cycle the generator.
- Verify that the generator is running the current 2.5.4 version
of the vxWorks file by entering the following command:
verf?
20.1883404, 01.04.11
- Verify that the vxWorks file is: 20.1883404.
- Verify that the BootRom version is: 01.04.11.
- Verify that the generator is running the current 2.5.4 version
of the gateware files by entering the following command:
verg?
256C,39,2222006:253F,77,8012006:253A,9,8282006
- The first listing is the CPLD gateware. The next two listings are the Tx and Rx gateware respectively. The gatewares are separated by colons. Verify that the Tx gateware file (the second item listed) is:
253F,77,8012006.
- Verify that the Rx gateware file (the third item listed) is:
253A,9,8282006.
