Module supports HBR2 link rates at 5.4Gb/s on up to 4 lanes
Elgin IL - November 7, 2013 - Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced the release of a new DisplayPort 1.2 Video Generator module for the 980B Advanced Test Platform. The new module supports testing of DisplayPort monitors at link rates up to 5.4Gb/s and provides standard pattern testing for DisplayPort 1.2 display devices.
The new DisplayPort module also supports a rich set of functional tests for DisplayPort protocols. Developers can control the link training parameters to force specific outcomes or set limits on lane counts and link rates. Link training can be monitored with Quantum Data’s industry familiar Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA). The ACA utility can also monitor HDCP transactions and EDID exchanges.
The EDID of the connected display is decoded and can be read in human readable text. Users can navigate through the various blocks to view the display’s capabilities prior to testing various formats or video characteristics. Similarly, the module provides a DPCD register decoding utility. This utility enables users to view the values of the various DPCD registers in easy to understand text.
With the addition of the DisplayPort 1.2 Video Generator module along with the existing 980 HDMI Video Generator module, the 980 provides an advanced set of test solutions for modern high-end HDTVs and displays.
