New product provides interoperability and compliance testing at 297MHz
Elgin IL - May 17, 2011 - Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced a new HDMI Rx module for its 980 Protocol Analyzer that operates at the HDMI 1.4a speeds of 297MHz. The 980 Protocol Analyzer captures and decodes encrypted or unencrypted video and protocol data (data islands, infoframes, control data, audio, timing, etc.) as well as DDC transactions and CEC messages.
The 980 Protocol Analyzer is an ideal solution for pre-testing source products prior to submission to an ATC and also for self-testing where manufacturers have tested initial source products at the ATC. Developers of HDMI sink devices have also found the 980 Protocol Analyzer to be a valuable tool for gaining insights into how source devices transmit protocol, audio and control data over an HDMI link. Unlike competing analyzers for HDMI protocol testing, the 980 captures all data islands and control events with precise timestamps even when packets are transmitted in rapid succession.
The new 980 module provides developers with deep visibility into the HDMI protocol and control data at the higher HDMI 1.4a pixel rates up to 297MHz. Support for 297MHz also extends the reach of the 980’s HDMI source compliance test suite to include the 4K x 2K Video Format Timing Test ID 7-39.
Support for the HDMI 1.4a higher resolutions of 297MHz is the latest in a recent series of enhancements to the 980 Protocol Analyzer. Support for HDMI source compliance testing, Real Time monitoring, and the Encrypted Link Analyzer for monitoring encrypted data between an HDMI source and sink device and have all been added within the past several months.
The existing 980 Protocol Analyzer module operating up to 225MHz will continue to be available and fully supported.
