View changes of data in real time
EDID Compliance Test for HDMI Sinks also added
Elgin IL - October 11, 2010 - Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced the release of a new standard feature for monitoring HDMI video, protocol and timing data for the 980 Protocol Scope. The 980's new Real Time feature enables users to see the protocol data as it is being captured from an HDMI source device.
The 980 Protocol Scope is an analyzer for HDMI source devices. It captures and decodes HDCP-protected video data content such as data islands, infoframes, audio sample packets as well as CEC and DDC transactions including HDCP and EDID data. The built-in 10.4" LCD with touch screen provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to control the instrument and view incoming decrypted video. Recently the 980 Protocol Scope has been enhanced to include the HDMI source compliance tests in Section 7 of the HDMI 1.4 Compliance Test Specification.
The Real Time mode feature enables users to select which type of data they wish to view in real time. Infoframes and other data islands, timing data, HDCP and EDID transactions can all be viewed in real time. Developers can observe changes in these data as they initiate changes in their source device. Reference frames can be set for any data type to enable easy identification of changes. For example user can set a reference frame on a set of values of an AVI infoframe and then compare these values with subsequent frames.
Also added is an optional EDID compliance test for HDMI sink devices. Quantum Data has been a leader in providing EDID compliance testing for both HDMI and DisplayPort. The 882-based EDID compliance test is an approved tool and used in the HDMI Authorized Test Centers (ATCs).
The 980 combines in-depth analysis of the HDMI video and audio with ease of use and now enables you to monitor protocol data and timing data in real time. Contact your Quantum Data distributor or representative for ordering and pricing information.
