Elgin, Ill. — Oct 21, 2004 — Quantum Data™, a leading provider of video testing products, today added the high-end 882 Video Test Instrument to its lineup of video testing products.
The Quantum Data 882 features an intuitive user interface that gives users quick access to powerful functions. The instrument can also be controlled from a web browser, Telnet client, GPIB or serial interface, or custom control application. The 882 also supports and extends the powerful command line interface familiar to users of previous Quantum Data generators.
The 882 can be connected with a LAN for remote configuration and control. To simplify system upgrades, networked generators can boot from shared system files stored on a file server. Generators can also be cloned or upgraded using a Compact Flash card.
A powerful software development kit allows users to create complex custom patterns using C++ APIs previously accessible only to Quantum Data software developers. Each pattern is stored on the generator as an independent file, which can be copied to other 882 generators. Standard tools can be used to create bit-mapped patterns in BMP, JPEG, or PNG formats. The generator can output pattern files stored locally in the generator, on a Compact Flash card, or on a file server.
When equipped with an optional analyzer, the instrument can be used to measure timing of signals from DVI and HDMI sources, test cables and distribution systems, and emulate sink devices. The instrument is packed with functions for testing auxiliary video interfaces such as InfoFrames, EDID, HDCP, and more.
Standard features include dual-link DVI, HDMI, HDCP keys, S-Video, analog component, and more. An SDI/HD-SDI option will be available soon. For more product information, see www.quantumdata.com/products/882/.
