Approval covers link layer tests for source devices in accordance with
the requirements of the DisplayPort Certified Logo Program
Elgin IL - March 27, 2008 - Quantum Data, —a worldwide provider of video test equipment, announced that their 882E test instrument has been approved by VESA for testing link layer compliance for DisplayPort source products against the requirements of the DisplayPort Certified Logo Program.
This VESA approval is another piece of a comprehensive set of approved solutions for compliance testing. Recently Quantum Data announced the approval of their 883E test instrument for HDCP compliance testing for DisplayPort sinks. Additional test suites for link layer compliance for sink devices and HDCP compliance for source devices are currently being completed.
The link layer test application-developed in close collaboration with leading silicon vendors -
enables manufacturers of DisplayPort devices to bring fully compliant products to market faster and without interoperability issues.
The approved link layer compliance test solutions offered by Quantum Data, enable developers of DisplayPort products to perform fast and comprehensive compliance tests. Operation is simple. The compliance tests are initiated through the 882 front panel with the press of a few buttons or via a command over the Ethernet interface. Once initiated, the tests run continuously until completion without requiring user interaction. When a test series has been completed, the system issues a report that provides pass/fail results for each individual test. Reports can be viewed online, transferred over a network or printed.
