Link layer test developed in close collaboration with Genesis Microchip—Complements HDCP compliance test recently announced
Elgin IL — December 18, 2007 —
Quantum Data™, a worldwide video test equipment provider,
today announced an updated version of its 882-series DisplayPort
test instrument that can perform HDCP compliance tests on sink
devices and link layer compliance tests on both sink and source
devices. The company also plans to offer an HDCP compliance
test for source devices soon.
The updated instrument is an analyzer equipped with both reference sink and source devices. The previous
882-series DisplayPort model was simply a generator with a source that only provided functional and HDCP
compliance testing of DisplayPort sink products.
The new link layer compliance test capability—developed
in close collaboration with Genesis Microchip—is very
simple to use. Link layer compliance tests are initiated through
the 882 front panel with the press of a few buttons. Once initiated,
the tests run continuously until completion without requiring
user interaction. When a test series has been completed, the
system issues a report that provides pass/fail results for each
individual test. Reports can be viewed online, transferred over
a network or printed.
Orders for the 882-series test instrument, with the DisplayPort
link layer compliance test application, are being taken in December
with delivery in January 2008. The HDCP and link layer compliance
tests are offered separately. Customers can purchase the link
layer compliance test for sinks only or the combined option
with both sink and source tests. Similarly, the HDCP compliance
tests will be offered individually for sink devices and for
sink/source devices when source testing is available.
