Video tester checks for HDCP compliance
Elgin IL — March, 2007 — The 882 video test instrument with HDCP option lets users check high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) products for compliance with the Intel-developed high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) specification. The test system was designed to reduce the interoperability problems encountered in the field, especially when repeaters are inserted into an HDMI path.
Able to emulate any HDMI HDCP source, sink, or repeater, the instrument can thus perform complete HDCP compliance tests on them in any configuration in the compliance test spec. Tests are initiated through the front panel with the press of a few buttons, run continuously until completion without requiring user interaction, and result in the system issuing a report with detailed pass/fail results for each test and, in the case of failure, a visual snapshot of the bus traffic on the I2C auxiliary control channel for troubleshooting.
