Standards Organizations

Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) — The Digital Display Working Group is an open industry group lead by Intel, Compaq, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, IBM, NEC and Silicon Image. The objective of the Digital Display Working Group is to address the industry's requirements for a digital connectivity specification for high-performance PCs and digital displays.

Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) — The Consumer Electronics Association provides market research and forecasts; consumer surveys; legislative and regulatory news; engineering standards; training resources and more.

Society for Information Display (SID) — Quantum Data is a member of SID which encourages the scientific, literary and educational advancement of information display and its allied arts and sciences.

Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) — Quantum Data is a full member of VESA which is comprised of over 300 high tech member companies who work on standards that shape the future of the video electronics field.

FCC ID# Data Base — Need to identify or contact a manufacturer about of a piece of electronic equipment? If it has an FCC ID# on it, you can enter the ID# and get manufacturer's name and their mailing address as listed on the FCC registration document.

Video Demystified (by Keith Jack) — A comprehensive, one-volume reference book that covers multimedia and video system design. An electronic version is offered for purchase and download on-line.

Poynton's Video Engineering Page — A privately maintained site by, Charles Poynton, an independent contractor and author. This link is to a collection of articles by the author covering many aspects of video on both an engineering and consumer level. The site includes a links page to many other sources of video information.

Tomi Engdahl's Electronics Info Page— A privately maintained site by a student at the Helsinki University of Technology. Includes an index to all kind electronics information including computer hardware, components and standards organizations.

Monitor Matter! — A collection of articles covering the terminology and basic operation of CRT displays. The site is maintained by Computing Suppliers Federation Ltd in the UK.

SCI Electronics Repair Newsgroup FAQ — A collection of articles of interest to the electronics technician and engineer.
