About the Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA)

There are 2 parts to ACA functionality:
  1. Often when we say “ACA” with respect to the 882EA and 882CA we are referring to the 882's functionality for capturing auxiliary channel messages (EDID, DDC, HDCP, DPCD, CEC, etc.) as well as the ACA program’s functionality for logging and displaying the captured messages. In this case, the generator hardware and the ACA program are working together to perform ACA functions. The HT-180 hardware also captures these Aux channel transactions in a similar way.
  2. The ACA as a computer application (java) is a program that lets you log and view aux channel transactions. This java application is included with the 882EA (and 882CA) generators, and is run from the home page of the web interface. This same program can be used with the HT-180, and is also available to download separately from our downloads page: http://www.quantumdata.com/downloads/index.asp.
The HT-180 GUI saves trace files in the same format as the 882CA/882EA trace files. Because the ACA is available as a separate program, users of both the 882 and the HT-180 are able to save the captured trace files, and then view and analyze the transactions later. Neither the 882 generator nor the HT-180 are needed for this later analysis.
If you have the ACA as part of the 882, you can run it from a link on the 882's home page. You can also run the ACA application independently of the 882.

You can download the current version of the ACA from the downloads page on our website: http://www.quantumdata.com/downloads/index.asp. Download the ZIP file, then unzip it into a folder on your hard drive.
To run ACA, double-click QDAca.jar

Notes:
  • The other file(s) from the ZIP file must be present in the folder.
  • ACA is a Java application, and requires the free Java Runtime Environment, available from http://www.java.com
  • Please also view the readme file, also on the downloads page.
